You may be aware of the recent reports about the recalling of the Takata airbags in certain models. Subaru worldwide have recalled certain makes and models of vehicles that contain these defective Takata airbags. The passenger front air bag modules in Subaru vehicles sold in South Africa are a part of the recall. Ten different car companies including Subaru, have made the decision to conduct the Takata airbag recall for the peace of mind of our customer and to protect you and your loved ones.

  • How do I know if my vehicle is affected?
    If you are unsure whether your vehicle is eligible for a Subaru Takata recall, insert your 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into the electronic form below. The VIN can be found on the vehicle itself – on the windscreen, licence disc or vehicle registration documents. Add in your VIN number and the kilometres which your vehicle has driven and click next.

What do I do if I own one of these models?

If you are certain you own a car that is affected, simply get in touch with nearest Subaru service centre and book your vehicle in for the defective part to be replaced, at no cost to you. We will book your car into our centre as the most convenient time for you.
